What is Fangshi Karate?

Fangshi Karate is based on traditional Shotokan Karate. It’s effectiveness is derived from being first and foremost an empty hand self defence system as well as it’s directness. One Strike - One Finish.

Fangshi Karate is a martial art which combines traditional values of respect and discipline.

Fangshi Karate is suitable for men and women of all ages because of its emphasis on effective technique as opposed to brute strength.

 

 

Where are classes held?

All classes are held in the hall at Chelsea Community of Christ Church (5/8 Blantyre Ave, Chelsea).

Are our instructors qualified?

All Fangshi Karate instructors are accredited, certified, working with children checked and first aid qualified.

Fangshi Karate is a member of Martial Arts Australia (MAA).

Can children attend classes?

As well as learning traditional martial arts concepts. Fangshi Karate aims to instil core values such as confidence, discipline, character, focus, respect for themselves and others.

All this is accomplished with skills based fun, playing effective martial arts games, using their competitive natures to develop good Karate technique and enjoying the rewards that come from developing their martial arts skills.

Fangshi Karate is suitable for Girls and Boys of all ages because of its emphasis on effective technique as opposed to brute strength.

Why Fangshi?

Many martial arts specialise in one area of physical development – for example grappling in  BJJ and throwing in Judo. In contrast, Fangshi Karate martial arts is well balanced as it involves all aspects of training including blocking, punching, kicking, blocking, throwing and grappling.

It is an excellent all round activity for any age and will not only increase your strength, fitness, flexibility and co-ordination but also improve your concentration, self-discipline and confidence.

 

Does the club run activities?

Fangshi Karate has various affiliations, specialized training and seminars available for students to broaden their knowledge.

We have social events that include park training, BBQ’s, beach training, dinners, special classes / seminars, demonstrations, etc.

 

We would like to do more so if anyone is interested in becoming our social manager or can assist with organising activities, BBQ’S, invites, planning, Etc. Please put your hand up!
